Alliance4Europe is looking for an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) researcher to work with our team in countering disinformation threats, and support the development of our research team.

As an OSINT Researcher at Alliance4Europe, you will play a role in driving our mission to counter influence operations and participate in developing a growing organisation. You will be responsible for collecting and analysing open-source intelligence, and contributing to project management, as well as the development of our technical infrastructure, and further fundraising, in support of the lead researcher.

As part of A4E, you will also work with us to develop the Counter Disinformation Network, a growing network currently including 46 organisations and more than 200 practitioners working to counter influence operations, and work on various elections and research projects.

Responsibilities:

Conduct open-source intelligence research to identify, analyse and counter influence operations.
Monitor social media, websites, and other public data sources to detect trends and potential threats.
Analyse manipulative tactics and techniques employed by threat actors, identify the systemic vulnerabilities they exploit, and systemic risks on platforms.
Participate in research projects and write reports on influence operations.
Present your research findings to policy makers and during events.

Depending on your profile, you would either:
Help develop and deploy technical tools that enable our research and collaboration, creating resources that can be useful for members of our network.
Participate in project coordination, developing and managing project plans, monitor progress, and deal with reporting.
Communicating our work to the wider community and the public.

Qualifications:
Relevant Master’s, Bachelor’s or post-graduate degree.
Proven experience (1-2+ years) in OSINT or related fields.
Strong analytical and research skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in using OSINT tools and methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Advantageous Qualifications (optional) – we don’t expect one person to have all these.
Either project management, communications or software development experience (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript would be an asset.
A strong network amongst CSOs, media, academia, and/or governments.
Experience writing grant applications.
Experience in project management and reporting
Experience using the DISARM Red Framework.
Knowledge of relevant languages.

Salary:
Salary is benchmarked to location, experience, and expertise.
The employment will have a 6 month probationary period, and will thereafter be turned into a permanent position if funding allows.
