OSINT Trainer - Consultancy Contract

We're looking for OSINT Trainers to join us on a consultancy contract until March 2025. As an OSINT trainer you will be supporting our capacity and skills sharing efforts on some of our most interesting and noteworthy projects.

About CIR

The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is an independent, non-profit social enterprise dedicated to identifying, countering and exposing influence operations. Our mission is to raise awareness of the threat to democracy and objective truth from influence operations, including disinformation, and help to counter it.

CIR currently fulfils its mission through three strands – programmes and research, the Media Hub and our Resilience Network. We are a collaborative initiative with global ambitions: we aim to work with partners including civil society, the media, grassroots organisations, academia and democratic governments to coordinate activities.

Whilst CIR’s working language is English, our staff are based across Europe and other countries reflecting the diversity of our workforce and our commitment to international collaboration.

About the role

As an OSINT Trainer, you’ll play a key role in taking forward our mission – developing and delivering training to partner organisations. You'll have the opportunity to create bespoke content to suit the context within which you're operating and then deliver that training to the Human Rights Commission and other groups and organisations.

Working within a young and innovative organisation, you’ll need to be a flexible and collaborative team player, willing to pitch in and in exchange, we offer a friendly and collaborative work environment, opportunities to take on new challenges and to grow your skills and experience.

Requirements

We have 2 opportunities to join CIR, 1 intermediate trainer and 1 associate trainer. See details below:

INTERMEDIATE:

  • Prior experience in conducting pre-training needs assessments for diverse groups and using the results of such to inform and develop targeted training materials.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering and leading in-person open source intelligence (OSINT training) to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to articulate and explain OSINT methodology and processes, driven by personal experience in applying them.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to deliver training.
  • A proven track record in being adaptable, flexible and inclusive in diverse training environments
  • Experience in constructing training materials for use both in training environments and digitally for self-paced learning.

ASSOCIATE:

  • Understanding of pre-training needs assessments methods and accurate survey construction utilising both quantitative and qualitative measures.
  • Experience in supporting in-person and/or digital open-source intelligence (OSINT training) to diverse audiences.
  • Exposure to OSINT methodology and processes and the ability to explain them in a general sense.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to deliver training.
  • A proven track record in being adaptable, flexible and inclusive in diverse training environments
  • Experience in constructing training materials for use both in training environments and digitally for self-paced learning.

Benefits

We are strong believers in empowering our team, and we start by offering flexibility. We also prioritise providing support to our team members in their personal lives. For consultants this means:

  • Multiple options for work arrangements (in-office, hybrid, or remote) depending on project requirements
  • Employee Assistance Program that includes support for mental health, legal matters, and financial issues
  • Travel insurance if travel is required as part of the role

Working Arrangements

This a consultancy contract running until the 31st of March 2025. The role will be full-time and can either be office based, hybrid or remote, with the opportunity to work from CIR’s offices in London, if desired (subject to the applicant having the right to work in the UK) and with occasional travel to deliver in-person training.

CIR encourages flexible working and is happy to agree a working pattern to suit the successful applicant. We generally expect staff to be available between the core hours of 10.00 -12.00 GMT and 14.00-15.30 GMT each working day unless an exception has been agreed.

CIR is open to recruitment of the right candidate on either a consultancy or fixed-term employment contract basis.

Recruitment Process

To apply, please complete the application form and submit your CV in your application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview, which can be conducted remotely unless specified otherwise. CIR encourages applicants from under-represented communities.

Should you require any adjustments for the interview, do let us know.
