Missions

The OSINT ANMO Analyst M/F will be attached to the “Actors & Threats” office of the operations division (which brings together around forty agents). In this role, his/her main missions will be as follows:

  • Active monitoring and in-depth analysis of major social networks and media / mastery of research and exploitation tools;
  • Research and collection of geopolitical, economic, social and cultural information mainly from open sources;
  • Processing and analysis of the information collected / exploitation and cross-referencing of information to confirm/refute the hypotheses made;
  • Production and execution of analyses, summary notes and reports;
  • Development of thematic files;
  • Construction of knowledge base, updating of repositories and maps;
  • Participation in guiding the work of Data Scientists.

Profile sought

Coming from a university education with a specialization in Political Science in international relations (minimum Bac +5) and/or with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position.

The following skills are required for the position sought:

  • Knowledge of OSINT and mastery of Internet monitoring and research techniques;
  • Knowledge of the ANMO zone;
  • Knowledge of the most effective communication vectors on the Internet and foreign social networks;
  • Understanding and identifying methods of information manipulation and online influence;
  • International political mastery and understanding of crisis dynamics;
  • Writing skills;
  • Fluency in English and another foreign language (Arabic, Farsi and/or Hebrew preferred).

Additional skills useful for the position:

  • Mastery of the sociology of communities on the Web;
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis.
  • You will need to have a digital and/or numerical culture and demonstrate critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, teaching skills, technical skills, effective communication, dynamism and tenacity.

Special exercise condition

  • As the position requires access to information relating to national defense secrets, the incumbent will be subject to an authorization procedure, in accordance with the provisions of Articles R.2311-1 et seq. of the Defense Code and IGI 1300 SGDSN/PSE/PSD of August 9, 2021.
  • This position may be subject to on-call duties, requiring occasional availability outside of normal working hours, particularly during the 2024 Olympic Games period.

Who are we ?

VIGINUM is the technical and operational service of the State responsible for monitoring and protection against foreign digital interference. Created in 2021, it responds to a major challenge: to preserve the digital public debate from the manipulation of information involving foreign actors and which aims to harm France and its interests.

Its missions are to detect these campaigns and understand their characteristics (mode of operation, narrative construction, origin).
