The Münster Police Headquarters is looking to fill a permanent position in the Criminal Investigation Department (KI Cybercrime, KK CC2) as soon as possible.

Clerk (m, f, d) for the area of ​​OSINT/Online Object Search

to be filled. The position is rated according to salary group 11 TV-L. Part-time employment is generally possible. The working hours are 39 hours and 50 minutes. The places of work are Wilhelmstraße 75 and Friesenring 43 in Münster.

The area of ​​responsibility essentially includes:

  • Conducting Internet investigations and research using various browsers and software for downloading data; analyzing service providers and “hidden services” within the WWW
  • Proceedings-initiating and investigation-accompanying evaluation of incriminated goods
  • Identifying structures and tracking distribution channels of stolen goods
  • Strategic and operational evaluation and analysis of property crimes
  • Conducting Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) research to gain insights into individuals and groups
  • Conducting research in the deep and darknet as well as in scene-typical communities (underground economy)
  • Identifying website operators
  • Securing profiles on social networks and marketplaces
  • Support in searches and ongoing investigations through the aforementioned evaluations and analyses
  • Support and advice on operational measures
  • Back up memory cards, USB sticks, CD-ROMs, DVDs, Blu-Rays and other digital media
  • Identifying bogus offers (fraud/scam, fake shops)
  • Participating in/conducting local training courses

Expected are:

  • Completed relevant (technical) university degree (corresponding bachelor's or technical college degree in information and communication technology, computer science, digital media, information analysis, communication science, media science, journalism or an equivalent subject) or
  • Other employees who perform corresponding activities based on equivalent skills and experience or
  • State-certified technician in the field of computer science or information technology (DQR level 6) or
  • Completed vocational training in the field of information technology (e.g. IT system technician, IT specialist or comparable) with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Willingness to work outside regular working hours
  • Analytical and conceptual competence
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • independent, careful and systematic way of working
  • Strong web and social media affinity
