Youth Intelligence Officer - Regional Intelligence Hub
Job Description
What are you going to do?
The DRIO works in intelligence cells and teams, consisting of various specialists who focus on one of the prioritized security themes, such as public order, (counter)terrorism and serious organized crime. The theme of youth is a common thread through all these security themes and it is important that we are able to monitor, record and further develop this theme well. One colleague is linked to the Local Anchoring cluster and one colleague to the Front Office cluster.
Cluster Local Anchoring
Cluster Local Anchoring consists of senior intelligence from the basic teams and district investigations, district analysts and liaisons. Together we create hands-on products that teams can work with.
When it comes to youth, you and the district analysts are responsible for products that need to be delivered locally for youth. You deal with issues within the theme of youth, identify safety issues and know how to work these into a product that the district analyst can analyze further. Basically, you act as a work planner for the basic team and the district analyst. You contribute to strengthening our intelligence position on the theme of youth and you like to seek cooperation. You provide information that can be used (directly) in the police operation and you also contribute to identifying online threats and risks on specific themes. You are 50% deployable for Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) activities. After all, we know that youth mainly show themselves on social media.
Furthermore, you make safety problems clear, you map phenomena and you know how to separate the main from the secondary issues. You are deployed as a flying keeper where you feed three district analysts and work in good cooperation with the senior intelligence of the basic teams and the three liaisons of local anchoring. You collect, interpret and convert intelligence, with this you help the district analysts to make further analyses.
Cluster Front Office
The Front Office is the front door of the DRIO. This is where the questions for the DRIO are received. Some questions can be answered directly and sometimes the questions have to be coordinated and put away at the relevant department. In order to be able to streamline the questions regarding youth, it is part of your job to take on the coordination here. In addition, your work is the same as the colleague who is linked to the Local Anchoring cluster and you feed the district analysts for their analysis work. Here too, the work is focused for 50% on OSINT activities.
Both functions are diverse and dynamic. These functions also require an open and flexible attitude to participate in exploring the most appropriate contribution of your efforts, to properly embed the main track youth. You work together with various internal partners of both the DRIO and other involved services.
Where are you going to work?
The DRIO Noord-Holland consists of various departments that offer the police organization and partners in, through and prospects by means of intelligence products. You will work at the Local Anchoring cluster or the Front Office cluster of the DRIO. These teams are responsible for collecting, processing, interpreting and coordinating information/signals around prioritized themes. From this department you will work thematically for the theme youth.
Who are you?
You are a curious colleague who focuses on quality and has an eye for detail. You can handle large amounts of information and understand the added value of intelligence for the police and chain partners. From the multitude of information, you know how to assess when certain information is important to share and how to do this based on your expertise in the field of privacy legislation (WPG and AVG). You are skilled in drawing up clear, usable products. From the theme of youth, you actively seek cooperation with the other clusters and internal and external partners. In addition, you are an online expert and you can easily find your way on the internet or you are willing to quickly master this.
You also have:
- mbo 4 work and thinking level*;
- preferably experience with data-driven work and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT);
- the willingness to follow function-related training courses;
- preferably interested in youth culture.
