Security officer with analytical skills
Job Description
At the Swedish Work Environment Authority, we work together to ensure that no one gets sick, gets injured or dies from their job. That's why we help employers meet the requirements and provide information on how work environment work becomes a natural part of everyday life. With the Work Environment Act as a basis, we develop rules, inspect workplaces and spread knowledge about work environment issues. The assignment is serious, but our everyday life is characterized by work satisfaction and we are caring and helpful colleagues.
Your new job
As a security officer with analytical skills, you will be an important part of our team, which consists largely of specialists with their own areas of responsibility. Your work will focus on developing the existing structure and meeting the demands the authority's line organization faces, today and tomorrow. Examples of tasks include:
- Risk/vulnerability analyses.
- Position and qualification analyses.
- Threat and risk assessments.
- Collection of data through OSINT.
- Global monitoring.
You will work across all timescales and be responsible for products of varying nature and complexity, which are also presented to decision makers at all levels. Since we operate in an agile environment, issues such as security assessments may also be part of what you are involved in.
The work may involve assignments all over Sweden, which may involve some travel. As the authority has a national responsibility and collaboration with international counterparts, there may also be assignments where you need to communicate in English.
Since the unit for operational protection and personnel safety is still under construction, as the recruiting manager, I see it as fundamental that we together shape the mission where the focus is constantly on the operations and the demands that a changing society places on the authority.
Your background
The role requires you to have
- relevant university education or other education in combination with work experience that the employer deems relevant
- current experience of analytical work from similar roles, e.g. from a law enforcement agency or private actor with a corresponding assignment
- very good knowledge of the Office package
- very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good oral and written English skills.
It is an advantage if you have
- relevant experience in similar work tasks from a government agency or public sector organization
- experience in security work.
As a person, we see that you will thrive and succeed in the role if you have good analytical problem-solving skills. You convey information clearly and simply, both orally and in writing. Furthermore, you have a good ability to plan your work and can adapt to new circumstances. You are proactive, skilled at collaborating with different professional groups and stakeholders, and you contribute to a good collaborative climate. When selecting, we will place great importance on your personal qualities.
Employment with us may mean that the position is placed in a security class. A security check with or without a register check may therefore be carried out before a decision on employment is made. For some of our security class tasks, Swedish citizenship is required. Security checks are carried out in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
What we offer you
The Swedish Work Environment Authority is a safe employer and an authority that is constantly changing with the society we operate in. We are proud to use our knowledge and trust in our important social mission. Together we create an inclusive culture that includes heart, courage and brains. With us, the whole of you becomes an important part of something bigger.
The position is a permanent, full-time position and is currently located at our office in Solna. We apply individual salary setting and a probationary period of six months.
We strive for all employees to have a sustainable work environment and a balance between work and leisure. That is why we have flexible working hours or apply confidential working hours and provide the opportunity for remote work where the business allows.

How we recruit
We use competency-based recruitment, both to ensure the quality of recruitment and to combat discrimination. We think it is important that you also make your assessment of us. Therefore, we welcome questions before as well as during the recruitment process.
