About us

Combating organized crime (OC) with its various facets is the task of the OC department of the Hamburg State Criminal Police Office. Help us make Hamburg safer and support the investigations of the Hamburg Criminal Police

  • in detecting and analyzing criminal networks,
  • in the targeted fight against international drug and arms trafficking in Hamburg and
  • in tracking down illegal funds.

Your tasks

  • Researching information about computer systems and networks
  • Developing own and further developing public tools for OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) research, especially in social networks
  • Analyzing digital evidence for procedurally relevant content
  • Advising and supporting the investigative departments in the evaluation of secured data using special evaluation software
  • Applying and developing research, monitoring and evaluation software

your profile

Necessary

  • University degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in computer science, a comparable STEM subject or equivalent skills and experience, each with relevant professional experience in the areas of responsibility of the advertised position or
  • Completed training in the field of IT or equivalent skills and experience, each with 4 years of relevant professional experience in the areas of responsibility of the advertised position and
  • harmless result of a security check

Advantageous
Ideally, you have specialist knowledge

  • in the respective IT systems (hardware) used, their operating systems (Windows, Linux/Unix, Apple OS) and application programs,
  • in network-based information exchange and the techniques used therein,
  • in programming (C++, Perl, PHP, Ajax).

In addition, you are characterized by

  • Analytical skills, creativity and effectiveness in developing technical solutions for individual cases as well as
  • mental and physical resilience.

Note for internal applicants:

  • Due to the limited duration of the position, the position will be filled by secondment. The secondment is dependent on the approval of your department.
  • If you are not yet in pay group 11, you will receive an allowance in accordance with Section 14 TV-L if the other collective bargaining requirements are met. A higher pay group is not possible.
