We are actively recruiting a Junior Case Manager for our client in London, United Kingdom.

About our client

Our client is a London-based commercial intelligence and investigations company. They specialise in the analysis of intelligence on target companies and business partners. This is utilised by their Clients during commercial negotiations, dispute resolution and for identifying the risks to foreign investors prior to new market entry. Our client conducts complex multi-jurisdiction financial investigations and asset tracing with their well-placed network of confidential sources. They have a strong emerging market focus.

Ideal candidate profile

A Junior Case Manager for the business. You will be responsible for managing client assignments, supervising research and working with the leadership team in the management and growth of the company as it expands its current service offering and geographical reach. The position is full-time, London based with the opportunity for some remote working.

Your Role Purpose and Responsibilities

  • Case Management with regards to enhanced due diligence reports and other investigative matters, including but not limited to: litigation support, FCPA and Bribery Act probes, ESG and supply chain research, whistleblowing, misappropriation and fraud investigations. There will be a heavy emphasis on asset tracing, offshore structuring and ultimate beneficial ownership research. 
  • Market entry advisory for higher risk countries and regions, focusing on identifying red flag issues in the political and regulatory environments as well as personal and commercial risk factors.
  • Engagement at all levels of the reporting process, including research and intelligence collection, the writing and editing of reports, supervision of research analysts and management of subcontractors. Experience of running ‘human intelligence’ (HUMINT) sources a benefit.
  • Overseeing the resourcing of cases including allocation of teams, timelines and budgets.
  • Research training and line management for junior members of staff including research analysts and interns.
  • Preparation of proposals and reports to tight deadlines.
  • Presentation of findings to clients.
  • New business marketing, client database research and management.

The right candidate will 

  • Have an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree (2.1 or higher) in an appropriate field, with at least 3 years’ experience in a commercial intelligence or investigations firm.
  • Have demonstrable experience in enhanced due diligence, asset tracing and complex investigations.
  • Be competent in market-standard OSINT techniques and able to demonstrate experience analysing corporate, legal and financial records. 
  • Have experience in human source intelligence collection.
  • Have an ability to engage with diverse teams of specialists including cybersecurity, forensic accounting, and legal advisors.
  • Have advanced analytical skills, together with sound reasoning and aptitude for independently progressing your own research as well as that of the team.
  • Be able to work as part of a tight and collaborative team, to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure with a proactive attitude. Must be comfortable with dynamic tasks and duties (as fits a boutique).
  • Be looking for broader experience compared to corporate employee, interesting and complex work and an opportunity to build their role in an expanding business.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with native level written and spoken English.

  • Knowledge of other languages
  • Training in i2 Analyst Notebook, Salesforce, SiloBreaker and/or other specialist databases
