Summary: The primary role of the Intelligence Analyst II is to monitor queries for a variety of potential threats for clients in the fields of technology, security, and finance, that operate domestically and globally. This includes social media monitoring, threat monitoring, person of interest investigations, due diligence, online exposure, reputation harm, physical security, strategic security, and risk assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities: The following list of duties is not exhaustive. The supervisor and/or executive team will also assign additional responsibilities as necessary. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
- Monitor a variety of queries for possible threats and risks to individuals and companies, such as protests, civil unrest, personal threats, crime, reputation harm, strategic risks, etc.
- Provide timely communication and actionable intelligence to internal management and clients.
- Prepare a variety of finished written products for clients including but not limited to:
- Open source security assessments;
- Online exposure and privacy reviews;
- Person of interest investigative reports;
- Security Programming Reviews;
- Reviews of security design, technology, and engineering products; and
- Miscellaneous investigations;
- Ensure the highest standards of discretion when working with sensitive and confidential client information.
- Identify opportunities to predict and prevent future security issues or incidents, including reputation harm, violence, property damage, online exposure, persons of interest, terrorism, geopolitical events, travel, etc.
- Review and appropriately triage detections based on the urgency of the data and threat.
- Utilize daily internal tools to manage data, conduct research, and produce finished written products;
- Develop analysis standards for team and products;
- Lead the project management process of intelligence and analysis projects;
- Drive ideas for additional client needs and products;
- Lead client engagement through intake calls, kickoff call, and interviews;
- Provide peer-review of analytical products as requested;
- Arrange, schedule, coordinate, and fully participate in on-site assessments including but not limited to:
- Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments; and
- Security Needs Assessments;
- Write most of on-site assessments;
- Train team members in process, tools, and analysis as needed;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a field that demonstrates strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Prior experience with investigative writing, technical writing, and intelligence analysis (including military or law enforcement at state or local fusion centers).
- Prior open source intelligence (OSINT) research and analysis experience.
- Familiarization with social media.
- Knowledge of risk and threat assessment processes and other security industry related processes.
- Possess the knowledge and skills to conduct most aspects of Security Needs Assessments independently.
- Understanding and ability to actively contribute to on-site and drafting of Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments.
- Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision and prioritize as needed to complete tasks within a defined timeframe.
- Ability to apply creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking skills to find ways to identify the threats and mitigate the risks and be able to see different ways to approach the problem set.
- Exceptional research and investigative skills, with the ability to identify the problem and establish the facts and data.
- Ability to learn and become proficient with various computer tools and applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
- Adaptability and flexibility, including the ability to adjust to changes in the work environment and effectively deal with change, delays or unexpected events.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and clients.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in the written word with strong editing skills.
- Available to work flexible hours as needed.
- Authorized to legally work for any employer in the United States.
- Fluent in English.
- Willingness to submit to any requested background checks.
