Pay: $25 to $28 an hour
Location: Sacramento, CA

About the Role:
As an Intelligence Analyst at UpStream Intelligence, you will be at the forefront of our investigative efforts, working on a variety of cases that demand critical thinking, resourcefulness, and meticulous attention to detail. Your responsibilities will span across multiple intelligence disciplines, including:
- Open Source Intelligence (OSINT)
- Cell Forensics and Location Tracking
- Business Due Diligence and Asset Searches
- Executive Anonymization (PII removal and online threat mitigation)
- Counterintelligence and Threat Actor Unmasking
- Jury Research
- International Investigations (surveillance, public records, business inquiries)
- General Corporate Intelligence
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of intellectual horsepower, investigative acumen, and a proactive approach. Specifically, we require:
- Exceptional Analytical and Reasoning Skills: You must be able to dissect complex information, identify key insights, and formulate logical conclusions.
- Self-Directed Casework Management: You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to Quality: A dedication to producing high-quality intelligence products that meet the highest standards of accuracy and thoroughness.
- Understanding of Intelligence Standards: Familiarity with intelligence community standards, including ICD-203, is essential. (Note: Candidates are expected to research and understand ICD-203 prior to application.)
- Curiosity and Initiative: A natural inquisitiveness and a drive to explore alternative investigative avenues to further a case. You should be proactive in seeking out new information and developing innovative solutions.
- Creative Problem-Solving: The ability to think outside the box and develop creative approaches to overcome investigative challenges.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Our work is dynamic and diverse. You must be able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage a varied caseload effectively.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to clearly and concisely communicate findings, both verbally and in writing. Ability to contribute to a team environment where peer review, self-critique and collaborative thinking are critically important.
- 2+ Years OSINT Experience Required: Experience may be supplemented by related military, police, intelligence, or legal sector work.
