About the position

Would you like to help protect children and young people from abuse? The Child Sexual Abuse Section (SOMB) at the National Cybercrime Center (NC3) is looking for a structured and curious information coordinator who can contribute to this important work.

As an employee in our intelligence department, you will contribute to increasing the department's intelligence production and ensuring that relevant knowledge is disseminated to other intelligence and investigative environments - nationally and internationally.

The intelligence section of the section consists of seven highly motivated employees who contribute to national intelligence production and are responsible for the intelligence picture related to sexual abuse of children. The section also produces knowledge and decision-making support for its own management and the police in general. The section collects information, has knowledge of phenomena, and captures trends and new crime threats that are shared nationally and internationally. In addition, the section is responsible for coordinating international priority areas, including through Europol and other international partners.

SOMB consists of approximately 45 highly committed employees and is part of NC3. The section works holistically to combat sexual abuse against children through prevention, intelligence and investigation. We are constantly seeking new ideas and solutions to combat internet-related abuse against children and need new eyes on existing and future issues so that the tools and methods we develop achieve the high performance requirements we set ourselves.

You will be part of a development-oriented and strong professional environment, and we want to develop you so that you quickly contribute to the production and development of the field and section. You will eventually be assigned tasks with a lot of responsibility, and it is crucial that you are solution-oriented and proactive. You should have great work capacity, be clear and concise, and have the ability to create good relationships.

The section has a high focus on HSE for its employees. Services have been established to strengthen HSE, such as psychology classes, physically suitable premises and annual HSE seminars.

The National Cybercrime Center is a department of Kripos, and the national center for the prevention, detection and combating of serious and organized crime in the digital space, and consists of approximately 150 dedicated employees. If you are passionate about the police's social mission, have the ability to work with information in a structured way and want to help develop an important field of study, we could be a good match.

Personal suitability will be emphasized and flexibility with regard to work tasks and organization is a prerequisite.

Job duties

  • collect, process and break down information from various sources for use in multi-source analysis
  • contribute to good internal and external information flow and information sharing
  • quality assurance information in Indicia
  • participate in the section's other work in all phases of the intelligence process
  • contribute to competence transfer and knowledge dissemination
  • other tasks within the section's area of ​​responsibility must be expected

Qualifications

  • passed basic education at the Police College
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience from the police, preferably in investigation or intelligence
  • competence in obtaining and processing information
  • good language skills in Norwegian and English
  • good IT skills, including a very good understanding of the use of police registers

Kripos follows the competence criteria for positions as police officer 1, 2 and 3. To qualify for PB2, 3 years of experience after PHS is required, and for PB3, 6 years of experience is required. Exceptions can be made for police officers who already qualify for the position code as a result of faster promotion to investigator.

Desired qualifications:

  • experience from working with sexual offences
  • experience with intelligence production/reporting
  • knowledge of OSINT
  • training in operational crime analysis
  • experience with using tools to compile and analyze data

Must be able to be security cleared at SECRET level.

You must have impeccable character and be fit for service in the police and a police certificate (exhaustive and extended) must be obtained upon possible employment, cf. the Police Act, Section 18 and the Police Register Act, Section 41.
