Then we have an exciting challenge for you! In the spring of 2025, we will recruit for the functionally oriented police training (FPU).
What does the functionally oriented police training involve?
The functionally oriented police training is a basic training for police officers for prioritized functions in the operations of the Police Authority. The studies are carried out remotely at a high study pace for 1 year with approximately 15 weeks of in-person study that are mandatory and take place at an assigned higher education institution. The training is aimed at specific target groups that bring with them special skills and experience, which means that the training can be compressed in scope and design. Participants in the FPU are employees and have a fixed salary during the training.
Applicants who are hired will be trained as police officers in accordance with Functionally Oriented Police Training (Police Ordinance 2014:1104 and Ordinance on Police Training 2014:1105).
After completing and passing studies and trainee training, as well as security clearance, the participant will be hired as a police assistant, given a permanent position and placed at Region Mitt, the Regional Investigation Unit with the function of investigator and location in Västerås. Permanent employment begins with a 6-month probationary period.

Region Mitt consists of the police districts Västmanland, Uppsala and Gävleborg.
The regional investigation unit operates in several specialist areas through a section for action group operations, an investigation section, a forensic section, a fraud section and a regional IT crime center. The sections are represented in all police districts.
The section in general is technology, training and development intensive, which requires the ability and willingness to participate in a developing environment. You should be interested in method development so that the operation can find effective forms in the cases we investigate.

The concept of complex cybercrime (CCR)
Complex cybercrime refers to crimes where digital information or tools that handle digital information are either the tools of crime or the target of the crime, while one or more of the following criteria are met:
- The crime is directed against an activity of public importance
- The crime has international or other extensive geographical ramifications
- The crime has an organized criminal structure
- The crime is technologically advanced The tasks include, among other things:
- Seek contact with crime victims and obtain evidence for the continued investigation
- Compile known factors and ensure that the region shares essential information within the framework of guidelines regarding international information exchange
- In close collaboration with other components of the operation, collaborate to obtain, interpret and process digital evidence as required
- The work requires a high degree of independence, accuracy and the ability to seek information and take action in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines.
- Assist other groups with advice and support in simpler cases involving IT-related crime General police powers:
- Work in external service
- Coercive measures such as seizure
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- At least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, for example in IT, data, systems science or other relevant education
- At least two years of relevant work experience for the function full-time and in the near future, for example experience in obtaining, managing and analyzing complex information from an IT environment/network environment, preferably from investigative activities
- Swedish B driving license (manual transmission)
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Good computer skills and experience working in IT systems
- Basic knowledge of information search via open sources, e.g. social media
- Experience in managing and analyzing large amounts of data, such as databases It is an advantage if you have/are:
- Basic knowledge of programming, scripting and SQL
- Basic knowledge of cryptocurrencies, Darknet, stresser and booter services or malware analysis
- Knowledge in Open Source Intelligence, OSINT
- Understanding of the technical side of the internet, computers, mobile phones, networks, system/server logs and social media

Recruitment process:
The first selection is based on survey responses and submitted application documents (CV). The questions are based on the requirements profile for this recruitment and your answers form the basis for the selection process. Answering the questions is a prerequisite for your application to be considered complete.
Applicants who advance through the selection process will be invited to a digital information meeting scheduled for week 12.
After the digital information meeting, tests will take place at Plikt and the Examination Board from week 13 at their offices in either Malmö, Stockholm or Gothenburg.
Those who pass the tests will then be invited to a job interview for the position applied for. Tests may be conducted.
Employment conditions
Fixed-term employment as an officer during the implementation of the functionally oriented police training including introduction.
Fixed-term employment as a police aspirant during the aspirant training (6 months) in Police Region Mitt.
Permanent employment as a police assistant is offered after successful training and subsequent successful aspirant. The employment begins with a 6-month probationary period.
During the training and aspirant training, a salary of SEK 29,000/month is paid. After approved training, approved aspirant training and security clearance, an individual salary is set based on the function applied for.
