Shorebreak iThreat Security is currently seeking an open-source threat investigator to join our team. The investigator will support iThreat’s team of experienced intelligence professionals in both building and augmenting Global Threat Intelligence Programs for clients drawn from a wide range of industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and analyzing data to uncover facts and draw conclusions. The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, be able to think critically and analytically, and possess strong communication skills. Reporting to the iThreat Manager, the investigator will be responsible for investigating threats that impact our clients’ reputation, brands, executives, key staff, facilities, intellectual property, strategy, and any other topic of concern.
Job responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following:
- Conducting investigations into individuals, groups, business entities and more using open, deep and dark web resources.
- Conduct research in support of public record and open source investigations
- Writing detailed investigative briefs and research reports summarizing investigative work, conclusions, and professional recommendations.
- Providing analysis of ongoing casework and client requests to determine relevant next steps.
- Communicating with clients via email and virtual meetings to provide updates on open cases and ensure needs are being met.
- Conducting independent research to stay on top of the latest trends and developments in social media and technology.
The ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- Three or more years prior work experience in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis, social media monitoring and collection, threat assessment, antipiracy or investigative related services.
- An understanding of networking, DNS and core Internet protocols.
- Database or public records search experience
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to compose succinct written products under time pressure.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey findings accurately to both internal and client stakeholders.
- Substantial analytic and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize key insights from diverse datasets and verify information.
- Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field of study preferred.
- Proficiency in a foreign language is a benefit but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
